Mount
From The Underside Of Any Horizontal Surface
We designed this beverage holder to be mounted to our fish-cleaning
tables, up into the cutting surface from below. This keeps the thing out
of the way, but still makes it easy to reach for.
So this thing ought to work anywhere you have a similar situation --
fish cleaning table, workshop table, anything of that sort.
It's built using 1/2" King Starboard, and is milled on our CNC for
precisely aligned parts. Pre-drilled for 3 mounting fasteners of your
choice.

Armstrong Swim Ladder Replacement Storage Brackets

I have an Armstrong swim ladder on my own boat, and I love the thing. But
what I hate are the crappy injection-molded plastic storage brackets
that go brittle in the sun and then just...break.
So I designed my own replacement brackets using 3/4" King Starboard,
an extremely long-lived marine plastic. They
hold the ladder in place nice and snug, and considering Starboard's
excellent UV resistance, I expect they'll last a good long time. If I'm
wrong and they don't last at least one year on your own boat, just return
them with proof of purchase and I'll send you new ones at no charge.
Each bracket is pre-drilled for easy mounting, and all exposed edges have
a smooth radius. Overall length is 4.5", height is 2.5", and thickness is
.75". Fits any 2" diameter tube.

Assembly Instructions

Here's what you'll end up with once
your kit is assembled. |
2.
Altogether, there are 9 pieces of King
Starboard or PVC in this kit, plus all the stainless steel screws needed
for assembly. We've pre-drilled holes for all the fasteners -- but
(using the holes as guides) you'll need to do a bit more pre-drilling
into the vertical parts before installing the screws. |
3.
The first thing you'll assemble is the storage
bin that goes in the center of the caddy. |
4.
Simply position two of the notched
ends together...
|
5.
And using the pre-drilled holes as guides, use a 5/64" to 3/32" bit to drill
a pilot hole into the edge of the piece you're screwing into. Make that
hole about 3/4" deep -- being very careful to drill straight into the
center. Then snug down your first screw before drilling the next pilot
hole -- and repeat the process for the other end of the bin. |
6.
Once the 3 sides are screwed together, slide the piece into the
matching slots in the caddy's bottom, as shown in this photo and the one
in panel #3 above. Then, holding the box firmly in position, turn the
piece over and proceed as shown in panel #7. |
7.
Again using the pre-drilled holes as guides, sink pilot holes into
the bottom edges of the bin assembly and drive home your fasteners. Also
again, be careful to drill your pilot holes straight into the center
of the bin's edges. |
8.
Now flip the assembly back upright, insert the small "bin separator"
into the slots as shown.... |
9.
And slide the caddy's back into position, fitting the bin's
remaining edges into the slots as shown. |
10.
Now drill pilot holes into the back
edges of the storage bin, using the back's pre-drilled holes as guides.
And by now, I'm sure you'll be careful to keep your drill bit
straight-and-true and on-center. |
11.
You still have several more screws to add along the length of the
bottom, into the edge of the back. And now you're nearly done.

12.
All that remains is to position the 2 "vent tool" tubes into their
slotted positions.... |
13.
...and position the caddy's top so that the tubes and the storage
bin edges fit into the matching slots....
|
14.
You may have slap the top a bit to seat everything into the
appropriate slots. But thanks to our CNC machine, all the tolerances are
both tight and very accurate -- so the pieces will fit together
nicely if you exercise a bit of patience. |
15.
Now all you have to do is use the remaining pre-drilled holes as
guides for your remaining pilot holes...and screw the top of your caddy
down onto the main body. You'll note that the back is already
pre-drilled for whatever fasteners you'd like to use for installing the
finished unit onto a bulkhead, center console or any other vertical
surface.
Now go catch some fish and have a ton of fun. |
